Jonathan’s Place was the first licensed
foster group home in Texas for
drug-addicted babies and small children.
We have since expanded our mission and now
provide emergency residential care
services to abused, abandoned and
neglected children.
The facility was created and is operated
by the Kid Net Foundation, a non profit
organization founded in 1991 by Dallas
resident Lisa Matthews and Phil Matteis to
provide specialized services and housing
to at-risk children in Dallas County and
throughout the state.
Jonathan's Place is licensed as an
emergency shelter by the
Texas Department of Protective and
Regulatory Services (TDPRS).
Programs are managed by a licensed child
care administrator. Professional treatment
team members (e.g., pediatrician, licensed
psychologist, LMSW-ACP and ECI) provide
assessments and monthly monitoring of each
child's plan of service. Staff are
CPR/first aid certified, PMAB certified
and they are required to complete a
minimum of 30 training hours annually.
Referrals for placement at Jonathan's
Place come from drug treatment centers,
Child Protective Services caseworkers,
social service agencies and individuals
needing assistance.
